The atlas, or C1 vertebra, is the first cervical vertebra at the top of the spine. It supports the skull and, together with the axis below it, helps the head move.
The Design
We spent a lot of time hand-sculpting these atlas earrings, carefully shaping and refining the design.
Made by Us, From Sculpture to Finish
The original design is sculpted by us in our Swedish workshop. We make the mold, cast the earrings in lead-free pewter, and finish each one by hand. The surface is oxidized to bring out the form, then hand-polished.
