A three-dimensional pendant based on the human cochlea, the spiral-shaped structure of the inner ear, sculpted by us by hand and cast in lead-free pewter.
The Design
The cochlea's tightly curled spiral is one of the most recognizable structures in the inner ear. Reproducing those curves at this scale was a challenge, but they are what give the pendant its distinctly anatomical character.
Made by Us, From Sculpture to Finish
The original design is sculpted by us by hand in our Swedish workshop. We cast the piece in lead-free pewter and finish it by hand. The surface is oxidized to bring out the details, then polished by hand.
