A three-dimensional cross formed from human femur bones, sculpted by us by hand and cast in lead-free pewter.
The Design
The cross is formed from recognizable femur bones, using their long shafts and enlarged ends as part of the overall composition. Rather than flattening the bones into simple lines, we kept their three-dimensional anatomical character visible throughout the design.
Made by Us, From Sculpture to Finish
The original design is sculpted by us by hand in our Swedish workshop. We cast the piece in lead-free pewter and finish it by hand. The surface is oxidized to bring out the details, then polished by hand.
