The femur is the long bone of the thigh, extending from the hip to the knee and supporting much of the body's weight. It is the longest and strongest bone in the human skeleton, making it a distinctive element to use in this sculptural cross.
The Design
We spent a lot of time carefully hand-sculpting and refining this design, using the long form of the femur bones to create the cross.
Made by Us, From Sculpture to Finish
We sculpt the original by hand in our Swedish workshop. We make the mold, cast the pendant in lead-free pewter, and finish each one by hand. The surface is oxidized to bring out the details, then polished by hand.
